The C.S. Roberts House

"It was a wonderful grandmother house," says Judith Bryant about her family's turn-of-the-century mansion. Indeed, the Victorian beauty, with its tiny corner balconies, storybook gingerbread trim and regal furnishings, is just the sort of house to capture not only the heart of a child, but also the hearts of any generation.

The Sherman Preservation League is proud to present the C.S. Roberts House, at 915 South Crockett, Sherman, Texas. Built in 1896, it is a marvelous period home, virtually unchanged by time, which will give generations to come a glimpse of life as our grandparents might have known.

- from the C.S. Roberts House official guide
by Cary Wacker

Open Sundays from 1-4 and for groups at other times by appointment, the C.S. Roberts House presents a magnificent entry hall, parlor, library, dining room, kitchen, bathrooms, 3 bedrooms and a sleeping porch furnished to reflect the life of the Roberts family. A monthly lecture series and special events every month present other aspects of life in 1896. A traveling trunk program is available for school children.
